Day Ride up the Mountain
In Montana, when the weather gets too hot, you go to the mountain.
These pictures are a bit out of order, but they show our day ride up in the Beartooth Wilderness. There is nothing there but a trail and utter beauty. We trailered up to the parking lot and then rode for four or five hours! The beginning part of the trail was a huge gorge with rushing water, so loud you had to yell at the person riding behind you. The horses took over on the rocky cliffside trail so we could take it all in. I was too awestruck to take may photos, but this shows a bit of it.
We rode up to a clearing where we stopped for lunch, and then Callie and I went to explore the river a bit. That water was painfully cold!!! But very refreshing.
The views were spectacular! In every direction, something reminded you how small a part of the universe we each are.
Wanda had no problem pulling up to a log for a nap after lunch while we explored.
Tiny and Wanda were perfect guides an hosts. What incredible people.
Amazing photos!
